  • Does my project need a building consent?

    This is one of the most common questions we get asked, and the answer is really job specific however there are some really good tools out there to help you answer this question.   • How much will a building consent cost?

    This will depend on a few factors including the size and complexity of the project. The council typically charges per hour for the review of the consent application and then a fee per inspection is required. A small bathroom renovation with waterproofing will likely cost around $2,000 whereas a full house consent could be as much as $7,000. The type of project you are planning may also require a resource consent. You also need to consider the time for an Architectural designer to complete the drawing and submit it for consent on your behalf.

  • I want to renovate, where do I start?

    We find the best place to start if you want to renovate, or build new, is with some good ideas collected in a way to help communicate your desired end result.

    A great idea is to create an inspirational board on Pinterest of houses and features you like. This will help you develop your ideas, and it will help us create a design that reflects your vision. You can check out our Pinterest board here for ideas to get you started.

    If you are confident with a pen, or software like Google Sketchup, you could also draw up a few sketches for us to start with.

  • Do I need to orgainse a plumber, electrician or other sub-contractors?

    No, we have good working relationships with a number of excellent sub-contractors, however, if you have a preferred sub-contractor you would like us to work with we can do this also.

  • Do I need to move out of my home while it is renovated?

    While this is a job specific question we can definitely work with you to get an outcome that works for all parties.
